Twisted landscape
Upon which we tread-
Where colour and symbol
Blend -
Memories, hopes and dreams
We gaff on this scape
You and I-
Where time stretches
Beyond-
What we know
Sun peaks on the horizon
I feel your spirit
I heard you call
To me- 'not yet'
As reality rises in us

Darkness calls the light
Back to the dark nights
With starry skies-
Swirling thoughts and dreamy eyes
Caught in the lie-
Of eternal youth
For youth is wasted
On the young-
Moments pass and I wonder
How are you still in my memory?
Frozen in time –
Your eyes captured –
The light around
How could you shine?
With so much darkness
Within –
Silent and magnetic
You unnerved me –
Quiet - mesmerizing energy
Your darkness called the light
Spirit tek spirit they always say
With starry skies-
Swirling thoughts and dreamy eyes
Caught in the lie-
Of eternal youth
For youth is wasted
On the young-
Moments pass and I wonder
How are you still in my memory?
Frozen in time –
Your eyes captured –
The light around
How could you shine?
With so much darkness
Within –
Silent and magnetic
You unnerved me –
Quiet - mesmerizing energy
Your darkness called the light
Spirit tek spirit they always say

Things of dreams
Stark that contrast -
Rupununi bull stands
Thunderous and dark
That absence of colour against-
Savannah of golden brown,
Stretching to Rupununi horizon blue.
White flowers bloom with violent pinks -
On damp, black stems,
When no flower should.
He stands below that tree -
His fierceness pulls me free
I let myself go unafraid
We stand -
Staring at things that could not be
What do you seek?
The shifting shadows on the land
Entangled in frenzied dance
Blazing fury and hardened hearts
Age old questions that have been sought
Follow the mind- or the heart?
Lost in labyrinths of time
I search for you in my dreams of broken homes;
Broken minds - and lost souls -
You find me in my sleep
When I seek to retreat -
Asking age-old questions, and I am caught
In the whirlwind of your needs
Midnight rantings of the madman
Sugarcane potion sweetened tune
My red-eyed demons -
What is it that you seek?
Entangled in frenzied dance
Blazing fury and hardened hearts
Age old questions that have been sought
Follow the mind- or the heart?
Lost in labyrinths of time
I search for you in my dreams of broken homes;
Broken minds - and lost souls -
You find me in my sleep
When I seek to retreat -
Asking age-old questions, and I am caught
In the whirlwind of your needs
Midnight rantings of the madman
Sugarcane potion sweetened tune
My red-eyed demons -
What is it that you seek?
